The Bible Says: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
According to Buddhism:”If you think the law is outside yourself, you are embracing not the absolute law but some inferior teaching.”
In Hinduism it is said:”He is the only God hidden in all beings , dwelling in all beings”.
And in the Granth Sahib it is written: “Everything is within the home, nothing is outside. He who seeks outside is lost in the illusion.”
Sab kuch ghar mahi baahar naahi, baahar tolai so bharam bhulaahi
Is so many scriptures preach the same theory, there must be some semblance of truth to it, even if we are doubtful. In which case it stand to reason that if God were to be discovered or revealed, the only way would be to reach him from within us, as he is “hidden in all beings.”
To take our soul to the highest realms, we need to seek him deep within. Everything we seek is inside us. The journey of the soul is similar to the progress of a seed.
Just as we first plant a seed, nurture it, and then benefit from the fruit of the tree, similarly, in spirituality we need to plant the seed of meditation and then experience personally the benefits of our effort. The growth of the seed starts from deep within the earth, while the seed of spirituality starts from deep within the soul.
The taller the tree, the deeper the roots embedded in the earth. So too, in search of spiritual growth, to reach the highest realm of our being, we need to get into deep core of our inner self.
God hidden in the heart of the all. He is deep inside us. As Bulleh Shah Wrote-
bed quraan parrh parrh thakke,
sajde kardyaan ghis gaye matthe,
na rabb teerath na rab makke,
jis paaya tis noor anvaar
